Gray Sky Event: The Beckwourth Complex Fire

The summer wildfire season is here and we monitor daily the various fires through the Western United States. The most recent fire to hit our threshold for collection was the Beckwourth Complex Fire in California. This fire began on July 3 as a result of lightning and has burned over 105,000 acres. As of today (July 22), the fire is 95% contained. During the course of this event, over 100 structures were destroyed.

In the gallery below, you can see the crisp ortho imagery we were able to collect once smoke was no longer blocking a view of the ground. In this particular area, we also have Blue Sky imagery so members will be able to do a pre- and post-event analysis of the fire’s devastating effects.
