GIC Crews Staged, Awaiting Favorable Flying Conditions

Florence continues to slowly make its way inland, leaving in its path a total of 12 now dead and approximately one million without power. Forecasters warn that rains totaling up to 3.5 feet could trigger epic flooding through early next week and could lead to tornadoes and landslides.

These conditions did not permit aerial collections today and GIC crews spent the day waiting it out in Pascagoula, MS, Fayetteville, NC and other locations but will be mobilizing Sunday morning to attempt collection of Charleston and/or Hilton Head area. Flights have been coordinated with Air Traffic Control (ATC).

As always, please direct your questions and comments to support@geointel.org.
