Hurricane Michael Day One Summary

The first day of imagery capture for hurricane Michael is in the books. The three day plan will yield over 75 thousand square kilometers of survey-grade imagery, which is roughly the size of Ireland. Day 1 includes wide area capture from Pensacola to Port St. Joe, and High res collection covering Rosemary Beach, Laguna Beach, Panama City Beach and Grand Lagoon. Data is on the way to our data center for processing and should be available Friday.

We are expecting good weather for collection on day 2 and plan to have 11 cameras flying. We will have updates here on the blog and we also encourage you to join our daily briefing webcast at 3PM EST. For an invitation to the briefing, email us at info@geointel.org
